6 students and 2 teachers of Baguio City National High School Special Program in the Arts represented the Philippines in the 2nd Malaysia-ASEAN School Linkage Program (MASLP) held in Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia last June 14-22, 2009.
Mrs. Marilyn Apiit, the SPA Coordinator, and Mrs. Merle Garcia, the SPA-Dance Mentor, accompanied Judith Anne Aguilar, Kenneth Omo, Mariah Jean Rueda, Aubrey Cabanlig, Rafael Handiong Kapuno III, and Elgin Jan Magkachi in the said event which aimed to promote the spirit of ASEAN and a sense of ASEANess.

During the event, BCNHS students were selected by a panel of judges as one of 5 participants who performed in the dinner program of the 17th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (CCEM) which was held in conjunction with the event. Only performers from 5 countries were given the chance to perform in the CCEM namely: Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.
Moreover, Mariah Rueda, an SPA Vocals student, was also selected to speak in behalf of the 99 participants of MASLP in their visit to Terengganu Elite School. The 99 delegates who participated in the event came from 10 ASEAN countries which included: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
