An integral part of the education system of Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) is the guidance program which aims to provide service geared towards developing the wholesome personality of the students to enable them to be well adjusted and to be oriented with the environment where they live and career they intend to pursue.

"The Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) guidance officer serves as an instrument of change through sincere concern and service for the students, parents and others and views of them conditionally as a holistic individuals."

1. to develop fully responsible and highly motivated students.
2. to inculcate the deep sense of personal learning and values towards personal growth and development.

OBJECTIVE
It specifically aims for the following:
-students with deep concern and service for others
-students with total personality growth and development
-students to view themselves as individually different but holistic individuals capable of self-realization and self determination.

Counseling
The process helps each student to achieve optimum growth and development as a person capable of self direction, sound decision making and self-understanding.

Information
This involves the information disseminations on the topics or areas of life related to represent needs of students

Testing
Standardized tests are administered to ascertain the students' personality, interest, abilities and aptitudes.

Placement and Career Development
It is a planned effort to assist each student to become actively involved in a positive way in his career development and decision making abilities; and interest are of prime importance.

Inventory
The service is designed for you to acquire better understanding of yourself

Referral
This aims to ask assistance from specialist and community agencies for special cases.

Follow-up
This aims to follow-up results of placement and the progress of counseling cases to check whether or not the decision made in the interview has been followed.

Research and Evaluation
These measure the effectiveness of the guidance program and the people involved and to explore some changes to ascertain the needs of the students.

Evaluation
It involves the evaluation of teachers' performance by the students, teachers' evaluation of the performance of Head Teachers and Principal.
