2 BCNHS Teachers win in Singapore

Baguio City National High School made history this year as two teachers recently won in the Microsoft Regional Asia-Pacific Innovative Education Forum held in Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore last March 8-11, 2010.

It was the first time that two winners emerged from the Philippine delegation and both winners come from BCNHS. Mr. Adonairam Basingan, an English teacher of BCNHS- Sto. Tomas Annex, with his project entitled Advertising Indigenous Products was adjudged Best in Community, defeating other participants from all over Asia-Pacific. Likewise, Mrs. Vilma Ambat, a Filipino teacher of BCNHS Main, emerged as winner for the Philippines with her project entitled Mobile Learning: Anytime, Anywhere. Both teachers qualify to join the Microsoft Worldwide Innovative Teachers Forum in South Africa.

The two teachers were part of a 9-man Philippine delegation which also included two students of BCNHS. Gabrielle Paul Pascual and Abigail Kitma of the Special Science Program were among the 15 students from Asia-Pacific who qualified to join the event based on the quality of their participation in an online forum.
